Starry Night— Treated like children but expected to act like adults, a film where teens navigate their way in the world.

For this project, we collaborated with graduating students of the National Film School to create film titles for their graduate productions. I was assigned the film 'Starry Night', a story centered around a young girl's transition from childhood to adulthood. Forced to grow up too fast, Cara is conflicted between responsibilities and childhood dreams. I chose to represent this conflict through hand-illustrated type and image, reflecting her former young and carefree self.

I chose to represent this conflict through hand-illustrated type and image, reflecting Cara's former young and carefree self. The project consists of three sections, the first being the opening film title. This is followed by a promotional booklet which I chose to style as a fanzine. Colouring and drawing are featured throughout the film, which is reflected in the booklet as it also functions as a coloring book. Lastly is a promotional poster, followed by some of my process work from the project.
